Meet Dr. Letty Flohr
Hello, I am Dr. Letty Flohr.
I am a body-mind-spirit coach through Sole to Soul for over 25 years in the San Francisco Bay area. Prior to my coaching work, I was a Wall Street trader and retail executive in New York City. My mission has always been to provide a joyful, creative, and transformational program of exercises for the physical and spiritual heart while facilitating clients' processes in connecting with their inner and outer beauty.
I am also a certified restorative yoga teacher (Relax and Renew® Trainer), health and wellness workshop facilitator and a certified GYROKINESIS® instructor. I have bachelor’s degree from New York University. I have a master's degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica and a doctorate degree in Spiritual Science from Peace Theological Seminary. I am an ordained minister through the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness. For more information on my background, click here.
Why Cloudwatching?
Nature has always been my panacea. Hiking in the mountains and walking barefoot on the beach are my favorite pastimes. Ten years ago, I fell madly in love with the sky. The sky is the backdrop to everything I love about this world.
During a very stressful time in my life, through pure serendipity, I discovered the Cloudwatching Method. After dropping my daughter off at choir, I went to a nearby park to pass the time. I laid down a picnic blanket and lay down on my back with my eyes up to the sky. In spite of my exhaustion, I experienced elation, stillness, awe and wonder.
The beautiful azure sky, the white puffy clouds, and the tree line were a feast for my eyes. It was wondrous to be in the front row seat to the best show ever - the expansive and ever-changing sky. I instantaneously slowed down and relaxed. The 20 minutes went by quickly. Afterwards, the calm and joy stayed with me.
I am a very sensitive being and I have an incredibly noisy head so the Cloudwatching Method resets me instantaneouly. It slows me down, calms my nervous system and returns me to the here and now. The method gives me the opportunity to be in a state of be-ingness instead of do-ingness. There is nothing to do but to simply observe the sky. When I observe the sky, I experience rest and relaxation. Like clouds moving through the sky, my physical level concerns float by only to float away. This repeats itself until I am in a state of stillness, and oneness.
Cloudwatching is a way I practice stillness. It is magical to experience stillness with my eyelids open. I do it every day as it continues to bring calm, rest, joy, and intuition.
While pursuing my doctorate degree in spiritual science, I conducted a Cloudwatching Service Study. It was conducted during unprecedented times (pandemic and the California wildfires which involved most of the participants). The study was still a success! Click here to see the study results and highlights.
As a spiritual scientist, I have closely observed, examined, experimented, and fine-tuned the Cloudwatching method for eight years. I test drove it through various challenging life situations. Though no two Cloudwatching sessions are the same, I always felt better for doing it. It’s definitely one of my key go-to methods to restore my body, quiet my mind, and lift my spirit. I love having this open-eyelids meditation practice.
Through my Cloudwatching practice, I discovered other add-on methods such as sunning, nature gazing, and enjoy-able breathing. I look forward to sharing these and more. I am also very passionate about uncovering the science behind Cloudwatching. Click here to see a few of my findings.
My ministry is to share the joy and benefits of the Cloudwatching Method. The Cloudwatching classes are designed to focus on you and your individual experiences. It could be a tool in your toolbox for greater observation, self-awareness, and self-discovery. It’s a wonderful time to connect deeply with nature and to your true nature.
